116610LV or 16610LV
I have done a little bit of research but figured it would be easier and faster to ask the experts here. I am considering getting either the 116610LV or 16610LV green bezel. Wanted to make sure I am correct in that the 16610LV has only the black dial and the 116610LV has the green sunburst dial (and I realize its the newer model, ceramic, etc), correct? I guess my question is you cant get the newer LV with black dial? This will be my first sub and my second rolex (I currently have black SS Daytona). I like the all green hulk model but afraid it may be "too much" green? Anyone tried on or owned both?
Thanks

The 16610 has black dial, the newer one has green sunburst dial only. I personally prefer the black dial, slightly less overwhelming than the all green. I also think the case of the newer LV looks too "chunky". But it does have the glide lock which a lot of people think is a big deal. Personally my 16610LV is extremely comfortable.

Great, appreciate the response, I am leaning towards the 16610LV for the reasons you all mentioned, plus its cheaper :)
ps Brad; WDE!

I've got the best of both worlds - I have the 16610LV and bought a Glidelock clasp for it here on the forum! Also got one for my 16600 SD so 2 perfect watches!

I'd go the 116610LV UNLESS you are expecting a modern sub with a slight twist. The thing is really, really green. And you're either going to love it or hate it.

Thanks again everyone, well after few days thought and your input I have decided on 116610LV Hulk...cant resist the ceramic bezel and glidelock, plus I am one of the few who seem to prefer the new bulkier lugs and case. Maybe its b/c I never owned or wore an older model sub. I am looking for something different, with some color as I already have my black Daytona and will be getting a black or white 42mm expl ii towards the end of the year. I think the Hulk will fit in good with that collection? Will post pics when I get her on Sat!

The older one is more collectible, IMO.

Might I suggest the Polar Explorer II for the next purchase? They make a nice pair with a black chrono in the middle |

DEFINITELY going polar when I get my expl ii. Its the only explorer ii color in my humble opinion...I actually owned one already, flipped it and regret it. SO legible and different from any other rolex. Will have another before too long.

OP....if the lvc green dial becomes too much then just buy a black dial and have it fitted.

It's just "green" on the new ones and "black" on the old ones.

there is one for sale in the rolex parts for sale section of this forum. im sure if the OP put a want to buy ad on the forum he would manage to get one. I think that there is a lvc with black dial in the modified rolex thread if the OP would like to see what it looks like.
