Yachtmaster 35mm
Wife tried on a Yacht-Master 35mm (168622) yesterday and loved it, so I guess the hunt is on for a nice used one. Couple of questions...is the whole bezel platinum, or just the insert? And presumably the insert is removable? Also, around what year did the dial go from the more sparkly to the flatter look?
Any other comments and pointers much appreciated, too. Thanks, Adam |

Adam, Ive had the 40mm and love it! One of my favorite watches I have. Just recently purchased the TT from Oscar for my wife. She truly loves wearing it and the 35mm looks fantastic on her wrist! Your wife will love the watch.
I think both the dial and bezel are platinum, not sure. I think we have a thread that showed someone weighing the dial and bezel in comparison to a sub, or something like a sub. Sorry can't be more help. Just wanted to share how my wife loves her 35mm YM |

Not an expert at all but I do remember we had a semi heated debate over hollow or solid on the Platinum front about a year back. I think the conclusion and evidence pointed to the platinum not being solid, that said they are a cracking watch and the 35mm I think is the prefect ladies watch, tried to talk my wife into it, but she wants a gold Daytona.

Adam this is a 35mm for you? A tad small for my taste in a sports watch to be honest. I really like the 40mm and have been close to buying one several times.

I'd love this info too as my wife is smitten with the 35mm.

If memory serves, I think Jocke had removed the bezel from his and posted a photo of the back side of the bezel, and it was marked 950PT. So, the whole bezel is platinum. Correct me if my memory is wrong, gentlemen.

The whole bezel is platinum. My wife's favorite. Great size on a woman's wrist.

Adam, the sparkling dial on my full size 16622 is from 2007. I installed this dial on my YM from 2010 instead of the originally "dull" dial, which I didn't like. It's really a huge difference. Perhaps the "dull" dial was introduced simultaneously with the rehaut inscription. I am not sure, but when i bought it i was not aware of the variety in dials and just picked up a new one.
The "yacht master" red writing is however in fine font on the 2007 dial. Older YM even have the fat font "yacht master" in red writing and the sparkling dial, installed till at least 2004. The midsize of my wife is from 2002, with the sparkling dial and fat font. I think it is worth to go for an older one instead of new because of the dial, great deals to be found on those, have a full RSC service, new clasp and you have a brand new great looking YM. |

My wife has the TT 35mm YM and loves it. Since the bezel and insert of the TT is gold, I would think the same would be true of the PL/SS model, but I'm not sure.

My wife's daily wearer as well. Very versatile for a woman, can dress up or down easily...
