First Rolex! Happy days!

First off, thanks to all who chimed in on my search over the past couple of weeks, it helped more than you know. The knowledge that I gained just reading through your forum helped me make a good decision. As the picture shows, this is my "new to me" GMT II. I must be honest, I went to my local jewelry dealer that has a passion for all things timepieces with the full intention on buying a mid 90's Sub date, the price was in my range, it looked great, I loved it. And then, he asked me if I liked the GMT and that he had a pepsi that was much newer that would be just slightly more money....of course I said let me see it. So he goes to the back, lays it out, and that was it. You guys keep mentioning to "get what sings to you", I think Angels sang when I picked it up, I just knew it was the one. I hope this picture reflects how beautiful this watch is, it is a Y serial and he also had a coke insert as well as the black, so I have three looks in one! Not to mention all original paperwork, boxes, etc. Alright guys, bring it on and tell me what you think!

Congratulations! You will love it and keep on looking at it!

And to those that understand, they will say "Nice timepiece".

Great looking Pepsi!

I think it's the best watch you could buy. I just bought one myself and I truly cannot take it off. First time in my life I am sleeping with a watch on.....

When the WG Pepsi comes out, that baby will only increase in value. Congrats on a smart purchase.

You should only sleep with your Rolex if 1) it is a Daytona and 2) you are going to make love. The reason is you want to time the "act" to ensure you can last more than 60 seconds. Although in my experience your partner can become irritated watching you play with the push buttons while she is patiently waiting for some action.

Sure Bobcat09, we are in Glencoe, AL and the jeweler is Glencoe Jewelry Sales here in town. They are friends of mine, kids go to school together etc. I can give you contact information if you ever want to reach out. He does not keep the Rolex line displayed, but you can talk to him and see what he has and he will have them out for you to see in person. They have a beautiful store front with standard fare gold/silver/diamonds, but timepieces are his passion.....his wife runs the jewelry side of things.
