Platona VS DDII

Hi Everyone,
I was wondering whether most of people changed their mind about the Platinum Daytona. When it was first released, i posted a thread to see which timepiece most people prefer, the Day Date II Platinum or the Daytona Platinum? At that time, the Day Date II won. But now, as we all got used to the look of the Platona, what do you prefer? Share your opinions.

Thanks

This one was a really tough one. I agree with the above and would love to be able to afford both. I chose the Daytona if I could only have one because I like the ceramic bezel and the chocolate dials with the blue dial it really just matches. I also like the fact that the Platona is technically a commemorative model for the 50 yr anniversary of the Daytona watch.

I voted for the DDD II. However in platinum with the DD II I would love the black dial. Wow!

The caveman and Ken must have biceps the size of bowling balls to hold up those perfect 10's at the same time.

I'm glad I do not have to make this decision. I think I would have pictures taken and review them until a winner was determined. I am sure either would be a home run.

There is no way to go wrong here. Both are incredible watches. I'd probably go platona though, and pair it with a RG DDII.

Platona VS DDII

Afraid I can't fall in love with either of them. However, I do like the 36mm Day Date in WG or Plat.

1i've never liked 'IIs''
I Think that DJs and Daydates are Classic but ONLY in 36mm which i recognize as perfect measures...
But,even thinking at the 36mm daydate i would take this daytona which is really something special
If they launch the ss model with counters and bezel black in contrast it'll be something EPIC

I really think you have to decide what type of person and/or personality you have. Also what will you be using the watch mostly for, business or sport or both.

if daily with a suit and at work would go DDII. if for everything, everywhere, for the perfect watch of all times that you can do anything with and is perfect no matter where you are, well then the Platona

what an awesome decision to make, cause like we said with gold once you go gold there is no turning back, times that times 100 and that's what platinum feels like!!!

I like yellow gold better than platinum for a dress watch, so I would go with the platinum Daytona overall. I'm still trying to trade for one, and it would be an everyday watch, not something I would wear to a fancy function. Both, great watches!

DDII is anything but a dress watch! It is a sports watch/professional all the way. Cellini line are dress watches and dress watches are small, slim and on leather straps.

One office down there is a DD II Platinum so I would have to go with the Daytona. Both are nice!! But I have already mentally committed myself to the Daytona.

Platona. DDs look best, and are often seen, on conservative businessmen in suits (IMO). Daytonas are sportier and have the buttons to play with. Having tried on a Platona I can tell you it is both gorgeous and HEAVY. If James Bond wrapped either platinum watch around his hand and punched the bad guy, it would have done serious damage.

This is a tough one...probably Daytona by a nose, only because it's much more distinct than any other piece out there.
