I just love the 116333...

There is just something about this dial. I think it's because I grew up in an Italian neighborhood in the 1960's and this dial evokes elements of interior design at the time; this dial, blown up, could have graced a wall clock of that period.

Whatever the reason, I can't stop looking at it.

Please be careful not to stare at the gorgeous dial while driving.

No fear of that; as sadly I do not (yet) own one. It's on my ever-growing list of grails.

It's the evocative aspect that draws me; its funny, because without that I think the dial could be improved upon. The Roman 4 is not the "IV" I'm accustomed to, the numerals are upside down on the bottom of the dial and the missing nine looks odd; I assume Rolex was trying to balance the date window, but I'd rather have a number there. All that said, I still think it's beautiful.

Never noticed the "unusual" four before.

I think that watch is stunning in pictures, and in person. But it did nothing for me when it was on my wrist, I was so disappointed...

Interesting - why do you think that was?

No idea. I wish I knew; I'd probably own it if I did. I still love looking at it. As any watch, you should try it on before you buy.

I've also had the reverse happen. Hated the Daytona, and then I saw one in person and had to have it.

I love the combo of dark grey dial, green numerals and gold.
