Is it worth to trade a deepsea and buy a 16570 t25 dial

Hi everyone , i have a deepsea mark II dial , i wanna sell it recently and buy a
EXP II 16570 T25 white dial which already change yellow , another give me some comment on it ? if i sell my deepsea and buy the EXP ii , i still can have more than US$ 3000 left , but some of my friend tell me don't do it .
for myself , i do like deepsea but i prefer mark I dial than mark II

Sorry but the difference between the so called mark1 or 2,3 xyz dials in so minuscule, I am sure if it was not for the internet forums know one would even notice it.So its down to you only you can decide to change your watch, myself not a fan of the DSSD so a bit bias.I would change to the Explorer and have a bit of cash toward perhaps another watch two are better than one.

Of course, do what you want to do.

But it seems strange to me that a person would get rid of a watch they like because of a barely noticeable dial variation.

(By "barely noticeable dial variation" I meant the DSSD mk1 vs mk2 dial.)

You mean the dial itself is yellowing? I thought you meant the luminous material.

In that case, yeah, I'd trade the DSSD for a 16570 cream dial any day. Pretty rare. Ask this on the vintage forum and you'll probably get a resounding YES.

I thought the "cream dial" only happened on the 16550; I'm guessing he's talking about the hour plots? Could be wrong though. Anyway, personally I would do the trade if you're even thinking about it.

I agree here.. If it was a 16570 with a cream dial then somebody is pulling a fast-one. The sale of a DSSD wouldn't cover a true cream-dial Exp II.

I believe that folks should have the watch that they want to wear. The DSSD is actually much rarer than a white dial 16570 t<25; but, since I am not a fan of the DSSD, I would take the white Exp II any day..

Good to know! Thanks, I thought it occurred on 16570's as well. Every day is a school day on TRF!

So you buy Rolex watches because you think they are rare now if you really want a rare Rolex. Then get one of the left hand wind Rolex now they are really rare, and not some paint fault pigment that turns some dials cream with age.

I would. Just do your research to make sure the serial numbers on the expii are correct

Mine turned black. And it's not a T<25 either.

MKI or MKII dial makes absolutely no difference, unless you view your watches at big magnification on a 27" screen. I prefer having mine on the wrist :-)

And if you sell your recent DSSD and get an old 2008/9 M or V serial it is time to service it soon, which will set you back a pretty penny on a DSSD.

If I were you I would keep your DSSD. The dial is black in the majority of the lighting.

If you dig around, you'll find a very small handful of cream colored 16570's that have popped up on forums over the years. I owned one briefly a couple years ago, and it was one of the coolest watches I've ever had.

In the eyes of most collectors, the cream 16550 is THE cream Explorer II. But having spent way too much time hunting online for these, and having corresponded with a couple owners of this watch, I believe it to be far more rare. Based on what I found, they tend to occur in the early 90's E, N, X etc., serial range. Mine was a W.

To the OP, I'd say if you have a chance to own one, and you like it, go for it.

Here's the one I owned.
