Mini review of Swatch Sistem51..
This range had just arrived in my country a couple of days ago, and I wanted to see this watch for myself.
I chose black, as the dial, to me is the most legible of the 4 variations, the rest being Blue, Red, and White. The watch is light as a feather on the wrist, and it ticks a bit louder than a manual-wind Panerai. Lume is only applied on the hands and the dots on the bezel. Caseback is transparent plastic, and the watch can be manually wound anti-clockwise using the crown. Power Reserve is, wow 90hrs... Leather strap is soft, takes a couple of hours to 'shape' itself on the wrist. Its quite nice for its asking price by Swatch, a good 'pick n go' kind of watch. Thanks for reading everyone! |

Wow it is a great looking watch. I was thinking of getting this for my little sister, who is in middleschool. Do you think the size and the design can go along with a young girl?

I think the watch would suit younger people and kids, your little sister will like it. The case size is a bit on the larger end for Swatch watches, its a 42mm, you could bring her to the Swatch store to try it on.👍 |

Tks for the review.
Bought a white one for my daughter a few weeks ago (and a pink pebble). I may have to borrow it.

Some pix on the net taken by someone who took one apart to see what made it tic.
As has been said it winds anticlockwise and doesn't hack but you can stop the second hand with a bit of backward movement on the crown when the PR is low.

I've had it for a little bit of time and love it, too. An interesting concept, great watch and tremendous value. I'm enjoying the light weight, the black with white accents and the thicker case (when compared to my battery powered Swatch).

Do you guys think that this watch will be collectible some day, regarding the fact that it is the first automatic watch made by machines from the beginning to the end, without ever having a human hand touch it?

not sure..
the sales girl at the Swatch store was going on and on about how it's going to be a collectible.. how she bought 4 of them just to hold on to.. not sure if she was just trying to get the sale or what |

The concept of a disposable automatic is intriguing. I may have to try one.
