Pics comparing GMT II Pepsi and Coke please

Hi,
I am inches away from saying yes to a GMT II classic but could really do with a couple of good pics with accurate colours comparing the Pepsi and Coke.
I know where there are both but it would mean a round trip of 250 miles!!
At the moment I am leaning towards the Coke but comparison pics will be a super help. I know that I can swop the bezels but at this stage I want to get the best one for me.
People have reported that the red on the Coke is darker than the red on the Pepsi, is this true?
Thanks ever so much, PeterT

Why dont you wait til the new Ceramic versions come out? Otherwise you'll regret your purchase later when you see the new and much better ones.

No comparison, I 'd say.
He wants to get the old ones instead of the new (so will I, soon - I have located that new ones still exist) because they are classic. The new has improved mechanism but the Coke/Pepsi are forever classics.
It 's the last opportunity to buy them new sice they will soon be found only in 2nd hand markets while the current model will be around for years.
Also any new Pepsi/Coke Ceramic model is not confirmed;they both only exist in our wish list and it might take years until they appear, if at all.
Get the classics now that you can

Thank you for your thoughts. I have to say that I prefer the classic model in that I don't want shiny centre links and the newer watch overall looks more bulky (in my opinion) Yes I like the Maxi dial as my Sub LV has one. No Pepsi announced this year at Basel maybe next year. How long do you wait?

The other bonus here in the UK is that the price did not go up and I can also get an extra 10% off!!

Thanks Mike for the photos, the red certainly appears darker on the red/black combination.
Anyone else with a side by side photo for me to drool over?
Cheers, PeterT

Thanks Robb,
It's a close call between the Pepsi and the Coke in my opinion. Did you swop your bezel yourself?

Cheers, Peter

You can swap the bezel yourself! There is a tutorial somewhere on how to pop it off and swap it, so either watch would be fine for you. Thats whats so nice about the 16710, is that no matter which one you get its like 3 watches in one!

My suggestion is if there is a significant price differen between the two then I would buy the less expensive one, but if the AD wants the same amount for either than get whichever one you're leaning toward.

Red on the coke is more of a bugundy [that's coming from someone color blind and tone deaf] than the bright red on the pepsi.
Either would be a great example. I hope to buy a coke insert in London later this year.
Good luck,
dP

I don't think you could ever regret a Rolex purchase. As long as you buy a watch you love, why would you have a regret!!

Also if you want for the Ceramic version you could be waiting a quite some time. While we all really WANT Rolex to release one, only Rolex knows IF or WHEN they will.

Buy a watch that you like now and enjoy it for years to come. Then if a ceramic version does get added somewhere down the line, just add it to your collection

With all due respect, the 16710 IS the better one! 120 click bezel, brushed center links, multiple insert and bracelet combos creating 6 watches in one, lower profile, lighter weight, red 24 hour hand, and available NOW [if you hurry].

I'm with the majority here, I much prefer the classic with the aluminum bezel insert. It is a great option to be able to swap out bezel inserts at any time and the fact that you can buy replacement bezels for $50.00 is fantastic. Just wait until they put the shiny ceramic bezels on them, I bet people won't be switching them out any more when it cost $800 for a replacement.

Peter, make sure the gun is loaded!

The good part is if you want to switch it to a Pepsi or all black later you can. I would initially go with what floats your boat.

I do not think that there are any available in London at a main AD.
If you pm me I can let you know where there is a new Pepsi and Coke at an AD near Cambridge where you would be able to negotiate 10% off with no effort.

Cheers, PeterT

As with the soda, the Coke is better. Red and black (University of Georgia) are the colors for those US college fans!!!
