SAROS System in action >>>

Hi all,

just wanted to share a short video showing annual calendar (SAROS system) operation of a Sky-dweller. This system is capable of distinguishing 30 and 31 day months.

As expected, last night date/month changed instantaneously from 30/9 (30th Sep) to 1/10 (1st Oct). Month indicator jumped from "IX" (Sep) to "X" (Oct) and date changed from "30" to "1" (and not "31"). This change occurred ~ 1 min 25 sec after midnight.

At the same instant, the GMT wheel aligned itself with the red triangle marker ... but this has been covered in a previous post (http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=368984).

Here is the video ...

Thanks for watching!!!!!!

Wonder what additional watchmaker training Rolex provides to staff at their centers to overhaul.

I know many would still be years away from needing that but interested to hear how much additional work is involved v

I just read a thread on an Italian forum where a Ulysse Nardin owner was complaining that his perpetual calendar took a few hours to change the month and during the process the date window showed the 31st of September. He was quite disappointed.
