New platinum daytona

So I was surprised today to find at the Rolex dealer that thy just received an updated platinum daytona wih diamonds on the dial (not talking about the all diamond face model announced earlier this year)

Nice. First dial with diamonds that I like. That said, I still prefer the one without.

Never liked the first one. I do like this; and would buy it except I still don't like the brown ceramic. Maybe next year they will offer as all platinum.

The most tasteful diamond markers I have yet seen. But like others, I still prefer it without.

I'm not a diamond kinda guy, but that is very subtle and tastefully done. I don't think I'd pay the premium over the "classic" Platona, but I'm glad Rolex is capable of doing things so elegantly with diamonds.

Interesting, but they have also deleted the brown rings around the sub-dials.
I think I prefer the original dial, but that is purely an aesthetic preference.

This is one of the 2 new ones from Basel this year and yes there are now 3 platinum Daytona's. Much prefer the original as well to the two new diamond ones.

I like the original dial more than the new ones with diamonds. To me, the new dials look like they are missing something.

Chocolate subdials would have looked better with the diamonds.

Yes Platona came out in 2013, this face was offered as a choice at Basel 2014

Diamonds do not belong on men's watches.
