Is this just poor paint application or corrosion?

Saw this as I was taking macro pics of my Milgauss. Any idea what it is? Just a shoddy paint job or something more serious?

Is this common on other Milgausses as well?

I haven't seen from that angle on mine, but i do remember seeing some really poor application of paint to the lightning hand on two of my GV Milgauss (both were V serial) and it was top down I was looking.

The sloppiness was where the orange paint ended at the base of the hand

whatever looks good with my eyes is good enough

If it was mine, I'd want to have the movement looked at to see if there might be a moisture issue. That looks corrosion to me. If not...Rolex, replace that hand.

I think it is just down to paint application. I remember seeing this similar thing somewhere else, I think it was on a review of the new White Dial ExpII 42mm. The person showed that the older red handed model had a similar type of paint application and the newer model had improved on this.

The hands are white gold even if they are painted,so its doubtful if its any kind of corrosion. Its just a paint imperfection that you could see on many products today with such high magnifaction.Afraid today loupes high powered magnifaction can be sometimes a new Rolex owners worst enemy.

It is what it is, unfortunately. Seen on many models. Painting is not Rolex's strong suit.

Paint issue seen on other models. Corrosion would also be noticable on the dial, Moisture would show on the inside of the glass.

I have to agree with the paint application posts. The hands on my DOXA Professional look the same way. Pretty much invisible to the naked eye...

Rolex only paints the tops of the hands; it's neither "poor" application or anything out of the ordinary.

The paint isn't there as a protectant that needs to be completely covering the gold, it's just a bit of color for the model.

Update:
Took the watch back over to the AD (Ben Bridge) today and we looked at another white dial Milgauss they had on display under a loupe and it had similar (but lesser) discoloration on the second hand.
So it looks like a general issue with paint application? The watchmaker mentioned nothing's really wrong, I had him check out the watch and he verified everything's running fine...

If it can't be seen with the naked eye, what's the problem. Next we'll be taking off the hands and checking the paint job on the back. Wheres my face palm?
