Fellhoelter Pencil

My friend is a big blade collector and has a lot made by Brian Fellhoelter, who is considered to be one of the best custom knife makers around.

He also makes some heavy-duty pens.

He just started making pencils, and my buddy sent me one as a gift. This TiBolt pencil is a BEAST. Really heavy but feels good in the hand and writes well. I am a long-time advocate of the #2 wood pencil rather than a pen or mechanical pencil, but I might be switching allegiances now.

That's really cool. What a great gift. What type of ink cartridge does it use?

It's a pencil, so it works with .7mm lead. Apparently it was made in a way that the cartridge for .5mm lead could work too, but I think the titanium body is too heavy for something that small. Writing with it is great. Been using it exclusively in the 3 days I've had it. Love it.

Cool. Hard to believe that's a pencil lead. Nice sharp point on it.

Looked at site. The pen is out of stock. 140 isn't a bad price but I wonder what it feels like. Looks very cool. I also love parker and space pen refills which the new design apparently accepts.

Apparently this pencil came via a Kickstarter campaign. I assume eventually he'll have some of this stuff back up on the site.

EEParker, Thanx for sharing...I really enjoy mechanical pencils along with Fountain Pens. I prefer using a .3mm leaded pencil and will use a .5mm as well because .3mm mechanical pencils are hard to find. And when you do find them they are from an Art Supply store which carries drafting supplies as well. So finding finely made custom mechanical pencils which use a .3mm or even a .5mm are just about non-existent.....or I just do not know how to search for them!!!

Never used lead that thin before. I'm a traditional pencil guy, though this new one is really fun to write with.

I've never tried .3. I bet that size is hard to find but blink art sells the Alvin Draft-Line Mechanical Pencil but I'm not sure that what you are looking for in "quality" I'm sure there is one near you. My daughter is into drawing sketching and coloring and it's easy to spend an hour in that shop.
