Just got a Day Date ii New(isn) watch collector. New to TRF.
Hi, I thought I would join the rolex forums after reading threads on here for a few months and using threads to help me decide on my latest purchase. A rolex Day Date 2 in Yellow Gold with president bracelet. (black dial and roman numerals)
My first purchase was a TT Yachtmaster white dial and I then got given a rolex TT date by my grandfather. I also own a GMT ii BLNR (which I love because my work involves travel so is very handy, and looks fantastic :D) Non rolex - I also own a Cartier Calibre De Cartier TT rose gold and stainless, and a Tag Aquaracer blue bezel & dial. To be honest after getting the DD I have been exclusively wearing them and the others all just sit in my drawer, I find it too captivating to take off my wrist. The only issue I have with it is it gets a lot of attention which I don't like, but I guess that comes with the territory. Does anyone else get a lot of unwanted attention from their all gold model? I never had this issue with any of the others. Thanks James (I will be a regular as of now ;) |

Welcome to TRF James... I own a DDII same as yours which I bought 7 months ago.. And yes I did get a lot of attentio in the beginning by friends and family... I also thought full gold was a little too blingy...but now It does t feel to blingy anymore.. I wear it all the time, more than my TT sub now... I feel it grows on you
Plus don't get too much attention either now which is a plus factor... Wear it & enjoy |

Welcome and congratulations on a great choice! I have not received any added attention to my Day Date II and I have had it since late September. Nice collection too. I ended up selling 2 of my 3 TT as they were getting very little wrist time.

I'm 25, and yeah I don't mind attention from a WIS but I don't like having it on during meetings with people at work or suppliers. I tend to go out of my way to cover it up lol

CONGRATS!
A lot of love around here recently for the DDII.. Yours is a beauty! Love the contrast between the black dial and the romans.. As for the attention, don't worry! Just enjoy! Dino

Great collection you got going on. Love that yacht master too! Congrats on that DD.... All go very well together. Enjoy your stay and you'll probably get bitten by the rolex bug like everyone else has here if you stick around lol
