WiFi enabled safe?

The recent threads on here about safes got me thinking: is there such thing as a wifi enabled safe?

So what I'm picturing is a safe that does two things: sends an alert to your cell (via an app) if someone tries the combination, and a motion sensor component so you would know if it was moved and receive an alert. Especially for a small safe I can see this as a great feature simply because if someone tried to carry it out, you'd know.

I mean, my bathroom scale is wifi. Surely this wouldn't be a huge addition to something as expensive as a safe? I think it would be pretty cool to have a monitored safe!

Hmmm, very interesting idea Scott. I can't answer your question but I like the idea.

I like the idea too, but I guess if this was to become the norm, a hidden router would be needed. Or a router integrated to the safe with the connection coming in behind the safe the part that's bolted to the wall/floor.

if something is connected it has been proven that it could be hacked. So while it would do the job very well when it first comes out eventually thieves will figure out a way to use the wifi enabled safe against itself, whether it be monitor the code being typed in, or just a way to disengage the lock.

everything connected to the internet no matter what measures are taken can always be looked at by someone who shouldn't be.
