A rare style from Rolex .....
Just my opinion but I've often seen Rolex as safe and steady over the years when it comes to the aesthetics of their product range.
The Rolex Midas is an exception I guess and a few wacky designs branded Cellini have popped up. But overall, IMO Rolex sticks to their knitting to some degree - not a bad thing I say Anyways, for those who may not have seen one, here's a 9083 , an odd watch from Rolex when launched in the mid 50s I think. When I saw my first one here in NZ a few years, I remember muttering ... fake ...under my breath but someone put me right. The integrated case and bracelet, the slim-line case and recessed crown just don't seem to fit with other designs from the era. Not my watch and I have no link to the seller ( it's on Flea-bay just now) but just thought I'd share pics of an unusual Rolex before. |

Interesting piece.
Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder (though a lot less are holding that style)

Nice, but way-overpriced IMO.

Beautiful watch - there are lots of gorgeous models from the 50s/60s/70s that were never pursued...much closer to Patek's than most of the newer Rolex lines.
I'll take it over a SD any day |
