I would say no, it doesn't look like, and certainly doesn't wear like an Airking.
But, if you're not feeling it, just get something else.

Not even close. The Datejust II case is 7mm larger than an Air-King.

The DJII in no way looks like an Air-King.

The proportions are quite different and in my judgement, not nearly as elegant as our dear, departed friend the Air-King.

No it doesn't.
But even if it did why would that be a problem?

Plus the fact that the DJ11 has a date complication.

There is one similarity between the two - they both have the word "Rolex" on the dial at the 12:00 position. Aside from that, no, they are nothing alike.

they are both round , with three hands ,,, at the end of the day a watch is a watch , if it were a unicycle it would look a lot different ,

and you would never get your shirt cuff to cover it ,,,

messing aside , nope , size and date would be enough to change the overall proportion of the whole watch , and as such leave them very different in my view.

Not even close; the DJII will never be an AK nor vice versa.

You really can't make a determination looking at pictures on the internet...you should look at them side by side in the flesh.

All oyster cased watches look similar. When choosing one, you ask yourself 3 questions: what size, do I want a date, and do I want a rotating bezel? The rest is academic

Probably a visit to your ophthalmologist would be in order............especially if the DJ II has the fluted bezel

It looks more like an air king than it does a seamaster or a fork lift truck.

Like is a relative term.
