Did you ever think that someone swapped out the bezel, especially if it's marked 1625 between the lugs......
Probably the dial too, as every TB I've seen has sticks and not roman hour markers... |

That looks to be a Buckley dial but I had a Thunderbird with roman numeral dial but it wasn't a buckley dial..

You need to see the case reference no. engraved between the lugs at 12:00. This does not look like a 1625. BTW I don't think the bezels are interchangable between a 1625 and 1601.

I am no authority. I looked at the enlarged photo, there is a substantial gap between the edge of the dial and the crystal. That would lead me to believe this is a 1625, as opposed to a 1601 or 1603. The "swiss" lettering appears to be gloppy on the dial, perhaps this is a repaint. It is not impossible to fit a 1601 dial to a 1625, I have done it myself. As for fitting a bezel, a little epoxy makes everything fit....
In other words, it looks like a Thunderbird to me that has had its rotating bezel replaced, perhaps forcefully, with a more conventional bezel.

The Rolex crown on the dial is to high. Also should have matching black hands for the buckley.

The dial is very questionable. That alone would set off alarm bells about the previous owner's handiwork.
