Any word/rumors for a ceramic ss Daytona

I agree.....

Although the daytona was the first to see the modern upgrades, therefore the oldest model in its current form and we have seen two models introduced with ceramic.

Only a matter of time. I would guess within the next 3-5 years

That's some bad info, considering the Datejust is the most successful model of all time.

I do not see it happening on YG and TT for some reason... Maybe RG w/bracelet this year, WG the next and SS in 2-3 years?

As long as they do not change the case I would love to upgrade to a SS Daytona C if there is one. For now I will enjoy what I do have.

We're saying the same every year since the first ceramic Daytona went out. And I'm quite sure we're right this time too.

My gut feelings tell the same. It would separate the PM Daytona lineup from the "classic" steel Daytona lineup even more if the former moved exclusively to ceramic bezel, and the latter stayed with the classic metal bezel.

BTW, not for 2015, but for a later date I'm also speculating on a gold Exp II with ceramic bezel. A very wild speculation, but who knows... Before that though, I'd expect to see many other interesting pieces like a RG Sub, a GMT IIC Rootbeer, and a Pt Sub. Maybe even a Serti Sub-C. And of course a SS Coke GMT IIC.

Anything is possible, but not likely in ss. Rolex knows you want it....badly. So they gave it to you and guess where it's at right now....precious metals. Remember that blue and red bezel disc every body wanted....Gotta pay to play.

If they don't put ceramic on another PM model this year then not sure this will ever happen on the ss or at least not for years.

I look at it in the context of Rolex's long term plan: to transition to a full luxury brand.

Therefore, additions that people want will be seen on PM versions, to bring buyers up to the more expensive models. New Pepsi is my evidence, as is the Platona.

But nothing wrong with wishing.

I tend to agree with you guys...it seems the trend rolex has been following lately is going the exclusive route...not catering to what the average guy wants-or can afford.

Why would anyone want a ceramic bezel on the Daytona? I personally love the SS bezels. In fact I always think that if I were to get a vintage daytona I would specifically not get one without the steal bezel.

I am not a fan of the shiny scratch magnet bezel on the Daytona models. So hopefully Rolex will come out with ceramic on SS Daytona models....I think that would be a great upgrade and definitely put in the waiting line.

Well nobody will know until the 2015 line is revealed. But it makes sense since other models have been "C'd" already.

What I'd like is an entirely new Daytona-C with forged carbon case white dial and gas tubes for lume. Come in at maybe 90-ish grams on a waterproof leather Le Mans strap and be tough.

I agree with Tom. Precious metals first and maybe way far down the road SS.

In either way, cost for ceramic Daytona will jump at least $5K in my opinion. SS value might even go up :)

Scratch resistant.

I don't think rolex will ever put ceramic bezels on SS Daytona. Ceramics will be PM models only IMO.

They are still on the older bezels in the SS, TT, and full YG models. Different bezel is one of the ways to tell SS from WG models.

I'm not sure I totally agree with you here. I think that Rolex will never give up their SS lineup, the history of the brand is there.

Sure, SS is vital to Rolex but I think John and others are alluding to the fact that Rolex are going upscale on certain models and ceramic is a way to help distinguish them and make them more exclusive, a bit like AP has done with ceramic only available on their new 44mm models and not on the cheaper 42mm ROOs.
