I have a question related to my Daytona purchase

Hi friends,

I just bought a Rolex Daytona 116520, and it's a G-serial sold in 2013. I am very excited, but at the same time I have a few questions.

Everything checks out good and it is a complete and pristine set. Seller is a very trusted and reliable person. Very happy with the transaction.

My question is this:

The clasp code is showing as 'S4D'.

I did some leisure reading and I read from a few bloggers that code starting with S is a service replacement. Is that true?

But I also read on another couple of websites saying that for clasp from 2011 onwards, Rolex is using random numbers/letters for the code.
So that means the S for service replacement doesn't apply any more?

Is this a cause for concern for me? The reason why I ask this is if it is indeed a service replacement clasp, and since there is no documentation for service,
I am thinking of returning back the watch.

This is my most expensive watch I have ever purchased in my life, and I want it to be perfect as I intend to keep it lifelong. Right now, I am having sleepless nights thinking about this.

I hope to get some expert opinons from you Rolex experts out there. If I am thinking wrong or even thinking too much, please feel free to correct me.

The service marking has always had the S *after* the number, so something like AB4S would be an April, 2000 service bracelet. I don't know if they still use the 'S' indication for service on the most recent 'random' clasps, but a three-letter/digit code is correct for the most recent random clasp.

You're almost certainly fine.

If anyone here has come across a S4D clasp in their post-2011 Daytonas, please also let me know.

If all is good, I will definitely be a happy man and I intend to wear it for X'mas.
Daytona has been my grail Rolex for a long long long time.

Your G s/n Daytona was put together at same time clasps we're going to random codes in 2011. So all it means is you have a G s/n Daytona with a random coded clasp. All good- and congrats.
Because we are now in random-land, I doubt Rolex will use "S" for service clasps since it makes no sense.
