Icon5 Switch out hulk sub c bezel to black possible?

Hi all,

Is it possible to switch out the green ceramic bezel on a hulk submariner for a black sub c bezel? How easy is this to do? How obtainable for purchase are OEM Rolex black sub c bezels on their own?

Please post pics if anyone has done this or seen this.

Many thanks

And Happy Holidays TRF!

From reading previous threads, it's physically possible, but logistically difficult.

It requires specialised equipment/skill to swap out the bezel inserts and it is hard to source a ceramic bezel insert short of purchasing the rest of the watch as well.

Someone has posted a picture of such a hybrid in the past.

Sounds like a lot of pain and cost for not much gain.

Way back when someone on TRF took the expensive route of buying both an LVc and SubC and switching parts between them. There's a thread on it. The result was okay, though I wouldn't mess with the perfection of either model, IMO.

Wouldn't the green dial and black bezel look a bit odd?

It's possible. Trouble is sourcing the bezel but it can be done.

Easier to swap the movements with dials on.

Nearly an impossible task unless you buy both and switch movements. Notice you can't readily find someone who's done this, the reason is because of how difficult it is to do considering the special tools that are also required for setting the bezel and ceramic disc.

At least it's cheaper to switch dial than bezel.

I agree would look a bit off, tho works so well on the LV ofc. Also the black bezels are pretty hard to source, green even harder, and I'd imagine sellers would price accordingly.

Very good pont. Wouldn't have though of that. The other way round would be cool. Black dial, green insert.
