Vintage rolex

Got this from my grandfather. I know its a 1946 from the serial number but any other info including value would be much appreciated. Thanks.

To broulstone: ??????? You're not even close in a comparison.

To thucydides, it looks like you have a solid gold bubbleback (probably a reference 3131, but it would be engraved on the inner case back, if you could get a watchmaker to remove it, as well as the hallmarks; unless the case back is steel, then it is possibly a ref. 3696). The dial is probably an older (very nicely done) refinish (it should say "SWISS MADE" under 6:00 if original from this era, mid-40s). It seems to have been polished a bit on the case and lugs. Can't really help with value yet, would need to know the ref. and hallmarks (14 or 18K). The refinished dial devalues it a bit (at least 20-30%).

Thanks for the info Adam i'm surprised the dial isnt original as i was told the whole watch was original but appreciate the knowledge. Also I'm pretty sure the watch is 18k from what i was told.
