Daytona Destiny
On Sunday the 2nd of March my wife and I went into Glasgow shopping.
I really went along to get out and get some fresh air. We walked along past the Argyll Arcade in Glasgow and I mentioned that I might have a look in Watches of Switzerland. I did not actually think they would be open but wandered along anyway. As it happened they where open and I said to my wife I would go in and just ask about the availablity of a TT Daytona. We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary at the end of May and I was considering changing my Sub for something else. I spoke to the sales manager and I said that I was thinking of buying a TT Daytona in a couple of months time. He asked me to sit down and removed from their display a Z series TT Daytona with champagne dial. It was then he explained to me that as from the very next day the Rolex UK price increase would start and it pushed up the TT Daytona price by £560. To cut a long story short I ordered a TT Daytona, the manager would put the Z series model they had in stock in their safe as being sold and when my Daytona arrived from their group allocation they would swap them over and thus I could escape the price increase. I wanted a white dial TT daytona and although the dial could be swopped out on their stock model it would cost the AD to get this done from Rolex and as I was not in a hurry for my Daytona I could wait until the model I wanted arrived from Rolex as part of their allocation from Rolex. After a wait of only seven weeks the AD phoned on Thursday to say my Daytona had arrived and was ready for "presentation" I collected my new M series TT Daytona yesterday, I think I was destined to get it and was in the right place at the right time. Hope you guys like the photos. |

The w/f dial is the best look on the 116523 IMO.
I owned one for a couple of years and only flipped it in order to get my grail Daytona.
