Sea Dweller or Sea Dweller 4000 on 6-6.25" wrist?
I have done some digging but still need a little more photo evidence. Can anyone with a 6-6.25 inch wrist share some shots of them wearing their Sea Dwellers? Preferably the new SD4000 as I have seen a few photos starring older 16600.
Please and thank you. |

The SD4k wears smaller than the SubC. It'll be great on your wrist. Best to hit an AD and try one out in person. Pictures can be misleading.

I think with the smaller wrist, you will want to go new SDc...the bracelet will be more adjustable. Makes a huge difference as the SD is a fairly top heavy piece.

I'd go SDc simply because the fit will be more adjustable. It may look ever so slightly bigger than the older SD. Other option would be a 16610.

Both the new and old Sea-Dwellers are rated to 4000ft. "4000" isn't a differentiator.

Not exactly new vs old SD, but new SD wears smaller than sub... just a little bigger than Daytona I feel, and it will be great on smaller wrists.... close to 7 inch in the picture

I concur I still have the 116600 and 116520, the 104060 left to make way for the SD and in my mind fits more like the Daytona and a little nicer then the Sub. The 16600 is a great watch but for me I've been spoilt but the newer style bracelets with the glidelock so I would always say go 116600 |

Personal perception as ever will have a lot to do with this. I have worn SD16600 for quite a few years and picked up the newer SD ceramic when it was released. Whilst I realise there was probably little difference if any in size, the ceramic felt and at times even looked bigger. Maybe it as something to do with it having a bit more shine to it - just not sure? No doubt though that it has the latest advances from a technical stand point and the bracelet, once the dive extension was removed, was better. It also seemed to sit lower on my wrist that the 16600. In the end, I moved my ceramic on but I would not rule out getting another in the future. That said, the 16600 is a super watch with some good ones around at reasonable prices if you hunt about. God luck!

I stopped by my AD today and tried on both the SD4000 and the SubC.
Not only did the SD4000 wear smaller on my small wrist, it was more comfortable and quite well balanced! I'm hooked. This is the one! Quite a surprise because the 16600 was really not working for me when I had tried one on a few weeks ago. I was ready to settle on the SubC but damn am I happy I took the advice and tried the SD4000 on. Now the fun part. Time to move money around and start executing the purchase. Wish me luck guys. |
