Format of inner case back gold marking in dating?
I searched and didn't see anything on this so apologies if missed:
I recently noticed that arrangement of the 18k and the 0.750 gold markings on the inside of the day date changed in 1964 - or so it appears. Until 1964 the 18k was to the left side of the 0.750 in a line, whereas during 1964 and after the 18k is top off the 0.750. Is this my imagination? Any further detail? This seems to hold true for other gold rolexes, too. Thanks much. |

Thanks very much - very informative thread. Also, the one photo of the pre-1964 Rolex gold case back appears consistent with my observations.
