Rolex Oyster Perpetual Bubble Back 1946
I'm hopeful someone can tell me about this watch. The dial is marked "Self Winding" The movement is marked "18 jewels, timed to 6 positions, Chronometer" The back of the stainless steel cover is engraved with an individual's name and the year 1946. The case and bezel is heavy gold plated.
Thanks, Brian |

Basically you already have it. It's a reference 2940 in gold fill. Calibre 630 NA 18 jewel chronometer. These are mostly Canadian. Makes sense since you are in Ontario.
Serial should be on the casebook outside. I'm going to say early 1940's due to the rotor weight. The crown is not the original type and has been replaced with a modern 530 crown it appears from the angles I can see. The movement is in nice condition. |

Thanks for the response. Is the dial considered a 24 hr. military dial?

Sure you can say that. Sometimes they had the red 24 hour numbers.
