Parting is such sweet sorrow... (update)
Hey guys, so for those of you who saw my last thread about my SubC gaining time like crazy, heres a bit of an update.
She's being sent to RSC Dallas for a repair. I took her into my local AD and they confirmed that the watch was unlikely magnetized and needed to be sent in for service. Estimated wait time is 6-8 weeks But I'm glad its being done now, the warranty will cover everything, no money out of pocket for this. The AD is handling all the paper work and shipping. All i have to do is wait for her to come back from the spa like a brand new watch! |

Sorry I don't remember this part, but how old was it? Six to eight is a long time if you don't have another to wear. But, it will be a good way to start the spring!

The watch was just under 2 years old, but only one month of it was on my wrist. I have other watches to wear, but nothing in comparison to the SubC. It'll be a long wait, but so worth it when it come back running like new! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

6-8 weeks? This must be some new, awesome way to demagnetize a watch I've never heard about.

The watch is not being demagnetized, RSC is going to disassemble the whole watch. Remove the movement from the case, inspect it to make sure nothing is rubbing against things it shouldn't be. Clean the whole movement to remove any dust. And then re-test the movement to make sure it's within spec. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Absence will make your heart grow fonder... or force you to buy your next Rolex.

Hopefully they beat the estimated time!
At least there's no money out of pocket.

I feel your pain as my Day-Date II has been sent away for regulation for several weeks. Probably 4 more to go.

Go buy a used 16610 on craigslist to wear while your waiting. Then resell it. It will help take the pain away. Buy it cheap enough and you might even make a few bucks when you sell it.

It must be a through check but it is almost two months like you order a brand new watch. Hopefully, it will worth the wait in the end and you will be one happy camper

I feel your pain. Years ago I was without my only Rolex for 12 weeks. It motivated me to buy a second Rolex for just the occasion.

I wish I had the option to buy a second, but right now textbooks, girls, and beer are destroying my wallet. Oh how fun it is being 21!

Parting is such sweet sorrow... (update)
How does the AD decide that the repair will be covered under warranty? Wouldn't this be decided upon inspection by the RSC?
