One more diving trip with the Sub - warning: lots of pics

This time I was lucky enough to make a trip to Bali to dive for a couple of days. I switched cameras, I took these with a Sealife Micro HD+. The camera performed much better than I expected, in spite of having diving pre-sets for white balance, unlike the Nikon I used to dive with. The Sealife has no zoom, and the close ups require a special lens, which I now have and will use next time.

This trip was great as far as variety, I saw a turtle, a couple of sharks, an octopus, several mantas and a beautiful spotted eel. I have some video that I'll load to photobucket and post the link for those interested.

Anyway, enjoy the pics!

I didn't go all that deep, the deepest dive was 24m. Most of the big animals I saw were at shallow-ish depths, especially the mantas and the turtle. Here is the link to photobucket where you can see the videos (I apologize for the short length of all my videos, I don't like harassing these creatures to get a better shot, so if they want to take off I don't chase after them):

I didn't take pics of the octopus because, taking a picture as far away as I was from the octopus, it would have been hard to see it. I took some video and you can see it changing colors and swimming away.

Thank you, Eric. I can't take credit for the stone fish, IIRC the DM saw it first. I'm more likely to find the nudis, which I absolutely love.

All those pics were taken with the right-out-of-the-box Sealife, no lens. I now have purchased a 10x lens so I can take close ups of the small stuff like nudis and baby shrimp.

I still think the overall operation and photo-related features of the Nikon AW110 are much nicer, but the increased depth rating and the fact that it is completely sealed give the Sealife a slight edge. I had started having issues with the Nikon leaking water - ironically it happened in a pool while playing w my kids - and getting "stuck" when it was turned/left on at 21-22 m. I hope that it's just a matter of getting used to the Sealife. We'll see how it goes when I try the mag lens, I hope the close ups are nice.

Great pics Adrian and thanks for posting. Looks a lot nicer there than the 48" of snow in my back yard! And negative temps this morning too.
