So, the old man couldn't afford a Sub?

Nice pieces, mate!

Both are good looking watches, but has anyone else tried on the Black Bay and noticed that without the crown guards it just wasn't "for them?"

I loved my 114060 when I had it and thought about getting the Black Bay Blue when it came out, but the more I tried it on the more it didn't feel right and finally I realized it was a large crown and no guards just didn't sit right nor look right on my wrist to me. Sucks cause I really wanted to like the watch!

Are those water droplets on the 114060 actually tears of joy because the watch is so beautiful??

My vote goes to the sub. For me the bb looks too much as just a tool watch whereas the sub is a fine balance.

Some really fantastic photos. I would take the Submariner any day over the Black Bay. No disrespect meant for the Black Bay or Tudor, but very few SS dive watches measure up to the Submariner.

Nice duo! Don't see why some think there needs to be a competion between them?

Father/son watch pics are always great.

Thanks everyone

Yeah, I think the Tudor BB is different enough to not be in competition with the sub. I regret the thread title now, maybe I should have used the word 'Comparison' instead of 'Vs'

yeah, the vs provokes a lot of insecure Rolex owners that they are better than Tudors.

Two great watches, both look great. Who passed on their good taste to the other?

I got my dad into watches. Gave him a nice 1675 I assembled for Christmas.

I had a Seamaster then sold it to fund my Sub; then my dad started researching watches and got the bug also a milestone birthday (starting with a 5) made a good excuse for him to pull the trigger

That is a very nice Christmas gift! You planted the seed, for sure

I love both, just a little different, one is red instead of blue and the other has date.

Both look great, nice shot. And extra cool that your dad is in to watches.

Is it just me or does that BBB look gigantic against the sub? Perhaps the angle of the pic?
