Of course anything could happen. For this to be the case though, all the work on ceramic bezels in this color combo would have to be deemed a failure. The movement and bracelet improvements and the more than 24 click bezel would seem to be very welcome around here. I just won't bet that you're right. Guess we'll see. By the way, pretty warm here, when's "next summer"? July 2008 or July 2009? |

Metal ring? For a bezel? Hmmm, definitely a different move for Rolex if they do release that. I really would love to see a "revival" of the Coke and Pepsi bezels though, especially since the Pepsi was the original look. Whoever knew that blue and red would go so well together.
Actually the rumor I heard was that Rolex has already discovered a way to make blue and red ceramic. However, they cannot make them both in one bezel. So what I heard they would do is make a little gap in the parts where the colors would change so its really like two independent bezel inserts put together as one. Well hopefully at Basel next year we may all bezel options returned to the GMT!

Interesting rumour.
Another rumour states that Rolex indeed could not solve the problem of bonding two colours together on a ceramic bezel without having to make a small gap between the colours. Like Jerome suggested. Still, it would be kind of odd to re-introduce an anodized Aluminium (or whatever metal it's gonna be) again in midst of the new "ceramic wave" that Rolex rides on.

My AD sooper dooper top secret spy guy still maintains the Pepsi and Coke are retired for good!!!! He was told by Rolex that they WILL NOT make a two piece and they WILL NOT revert back to a metal bezel.
But just like threepio says about artoo....I have been wrong....from time to time. J |

This may be a naive question, but how difficult would it be for an aftermarket source to fabricate pepsi and coke bezels for the GMT IIC? If the selling price were sufficient (couple of hundred $$?), it might be worth it to tool up. I'm not a materials scientist or industrial engineer, but I know enough to believe that these wouldn't be that hard to make as ceramic pieces; if necessary, they could be fabbed in aluminum to fit the new watch in the necessary colors.
Or perhaps I'm deluding myself, and afficionados would never let an aftermarket part touch their Rolex, no matter how well made?

My guess is as good as anyone elses, but lets say with the YM2 the YG has ceramic, the WG does not, so maybe in this case of the GMT they can do something similar and offer a bi-colored metal bezel?
Who knows what they are thinking, but knowing Rolex they can make anything happen! |

Can we still buy extra inserts? My SS GMT is all black and I wonder about having the other inserts as options.
