new rolex member
just picked up my GMT Mater II Coke 16710 today! I will have pics up tonight. Feels lighter than my Bond Seamaster and looks smaller too. Feels great to finally own one of my favorite watches. I would like to thank this forum for all the helpful info to keep my watch addiction going. Now time to lust after another one!

Fantastic news - you must be really pleased.
As Bo says, we look forward to the pictures, when you have them. Welcome to TRF and enjoy taking part in the education and occasional chaos.

Meanwhile, please allow me to posts some pics that C.J. posted a while back. He has the "Pepsi" GMT II. Although you have the "Bond" version of the SMP, the size is still the same as the one C.J. has:
(Pic by C.J.) As he stated: "There's definitely a size difference. But, the SMP is just so comfy to wear" (Pic by C.J.) Source of pics: This thread.

Nice score on the GMT. A classic by any standard. Don't let weight be an indicator as to how "tough" a given watch is. Your GMT is among the strongest most reliable watches in any condition on the planet.
Well done. |

Congrats on the GMT. The most versatile reference Rolex has to offer. Wear it in good health.

This is the most friendly forum I have ever been on. Thanks everyone! My grandpa wore omega and my dad wears omega/rolex. I guess its in my genetics to wear them.
I can't get over how light the gmt feels, the bracelet feels feather light. Are the links supposed to be even on each side? I have a monster 6.5 inch wrist and have 6 links on one side and 5 on the other. The watch seems to be flopping over towards 12 o clock side. Thanks for helping out a first day rolie newbie. |

Check out Sheldon's site for some tips on sizing the bracelet.
