Just joined the club...
Took me a while, but I finally pulled the trigger on the no-date sub-c 114060. I really wanted something other than a Rolex. I know it shouldn't matter what people think and I should just buy what I want, but I couldn't help being self-conscious about how other people would react to a Rolex on my wrist. I'm a low-key, non-flashy type of person and would've preferred a more subtle brand.
I must have annoyed every AD in my area trying on all their watches seemingly every week. But nothing could beat the Submariner. I don't know how to describe it. It just felt so much nicer. I wanted to like the Omegas, the Tag Heuers, the Tudors, etc. However, for some reason they just didn't look or feel as nice as the Sub for their price point. Holding the Sub, it just felt more substantial, it felt like something well-built, expensive. None of the other watches I tried on had that same special feeling. I will still probably pick up a Speedmaster Pro sometime down the line though. For any newbies looking to get their first nice watch, I strongly recommend seeing them in person and trying them on first. Some watches photograph better than others. And of course, the feel of the watch on the wrist is very subjective. |

The Non Date Sub is gorgeous.
I am personally enjoying time away from Rolex with Tudor these days, but to each his own. I'm glad your a happy Rolex owner. Enjoy it. |

The no-date is a beauty and a rather understated one at that. I wouldn't worry about what others think as long as you are happy. I wear a 16610 Sub Date and have learned over the years that Rolex wearers and watch enthusiasts are really the only people that notice or even care what you have on your wrist. Congrats

Btw, it's a "submariner". Not a "no date submariner". |
