Vote: Let's Decide the 'Official' Abbreviation For The New Deep Sea

For awhile now I've seen the new Dweller Deep Sea abbreviated numerous ways...so I wanted to get everyone's take on what should be the 'official' abbreviation. Just curious as to what everyone thinks would be the most appropriate:

1. DSSD
2. SDDS
3. DS
4. Other (please specify)

I voted for the Sea Dweller Deep Sea, the second option.

I went with DS for three reasons:

1. By nature I'm a lazy individual & will opt for the shortest abbreviation.
2. I figured SDDS or DSSD is redundant since there's no other DS in another 'family'...obviously any talk of the DS goes with out saying we're talking about the SeaDweller family.
3. I thought how I would talk about the watch...I probably will never introduce it as the 'Sea Dweller Deep Sea' but opt for just saying, "It's the DeepSea."

+1

Otherwise, we should call it the "Submariner SeaDweller DeepSea," as the SeaDweller was an offshoot of the Submariner. I SHALL call it the DS and therefore you should too (Jedi mind trick)...

Too bad they couldn't just combine the two names and call it the DEEP SEA DWELLER.

It still "dwells" in the sea, just deeper.

Good one Patrick, I like it.

I'm sure if we "Dwell" on it long enough we could think of a ton of names for it.

Rolex have titled it Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA, so that's my vote.

Although I think they should have called it The Mega-Dweller.

An abbreviation for the Sea Dweller Deep Sea? How about SDDS? Seems to me that Rolex has already named it.

Why deviate from what Rolex already named it after?

SDDS it is.

I voted for DSSD, becuase I like the way that it sounds and IMO its so much more easier to say as well as to write the abbreviations.

I agree with the rationale for DS. It's an abbreviation after all and it makes sense with all the other two letter codes we use, DD, DJ, SD, etc.

I don't agree with the point about following the Rolex name otherwise the Daytona would be OPSCOCCD

The only trouble, we now need a two letter code for the Daytona.....

Cheers - Simon

Good point. It looks like we might stay in the minority (at least for now), but I'll stick with DS too as my original intent was not to debate what the actual name of the watch should be (obviously that's self evident) but establish a universally accepted abbreviation.

Well, this cleared it up. At present we are basically at a 3-way tie. It might go all the way to the convention.
