tudor 7928/9 mil sub?? I am not sure on this (little help please)
hello this watch just showed up and I am not sure but the dial seems to be from a different year to me. I have a 1962 that had a dial like this but all gilt.
I have a 67 and it does not have chapter ring just second markers. The case back has a fancy marking and he is saying it is a military sub That is why i am looking for help identifying for sure before I pay anything. Thanks and those are the best pics I could get. |

Dial looks like mine which is from 1965. Should have the date stamped in the inside of the casback. Take a look at this thread. Not a mil sub but looks like same year. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=393072

Couple things - would need to see a much better photo of the dial to see if it is even legit - it may be OK - just can't tell. LCT(A) 2227 was a Landing Craft, Tank during DDay and removed from service shortly after WWII : http://www.navsource.org/archives/10/18/180227.htm
Could have been engraved by a crew member 20+ years afterward, so not a milwatch if connected to that LCT

Yes I seen the tank landing craft info to.
I just never seen a 67 with this dial. so that was a red flag. Then the fancy engraving for a boat from 1945 seemed a bit off to. Anyways he said he sold it last night so I don't have to worry about it. But I think I side stepped a Frankenstein watch and a big loss. So its all good Thanks |
