If you want mercedes hands and 3,6,9 letters, add another $1k.

Different dial, hands and bracelet/clasp. Is the Explorer worth the premium? To me, yes, as I prefer it, but there's no denying that the 39mm Oyster Perpetual hits a similar sweet spot, and at a much more attractive price point.

The clasp alone is worth the premium to me. Prefer hands and dial on Explorer as well. That 39mm OP is great tho!

Get whichever makes you happy. One for "dress", the other for "sport".

Is the movement in the new OP the 3132? I thought it was still the 3130?

I think they are sufficiently different. Painted coronet vs. raised on the OP. 3,6,9 on the Explorer. Domed bezel on the OP, etc.

Ah, subtle yet significant distinctions - I get it.
Though I also prefer the Explorer, there is no denying that the OP does hit a sweet spot in the line-up.

I'd prefer the blue OP over the two. No easylink is kind of a downer though.

OP is cheaper therefore I can see people buying it for price tag but Explorer is just classic and worth for me another $1k

To me, worth the extra thousand as well . However the best plan would be to have both. To normal people, you are right, they will probably see the savings and just go with the OP.

Very happy with my new 214270. No regrets and it looks so much better in person. I don't notice the short hands some people are disappointed with. For me it's a perfect under the radar daily wear watch.
