If you want to built up a seriuos Sub collection, all of those you mentioned will be added sooner or later.

I think you shouldn't be focused on one specific reference, but look out for the best quality you can get.

And please don't forget to enjoy the one(s) you have while chasing the next and the next and...

Agreed...it doesn't matter what reference or dial style...buy the best watch you can find and afford.

what he said ...best advice after 30 years of collecting is don't look for a specific model...when the right piece is presented to you, you will know its for you.

If you are looking for a very specific model, you will always settle. If you just wait for them to come...your collection will grow with the best pieces you can afford.

Those are all great choices. Perhaps a birth year... depending on how age I guess that might not be vintage.

I love the idea of a 1665 or 1680, add a little date functionality to the mix

In reality, can't go wrong with any of them and buying whichever one presents itself in the right condition and price first, as mentioned above, is probably a great way to go about it! Never thought of that.

Thank you @R.W.T and @cajuntiger

I'm just collecting watches for 4 yrs now, but I already realised that I let some stunning pieces go just because I was looking for another reference at the time. Regret that. And you will never be happy with your wish-reference, when the quality isn't right.

I mostly agree with the above, but if you already have a 5513, I'd pursue a 1665 or 1680, red or white, depending on condition and your budget. I find that the mix of references is what makes this hobby interesting. Those references would make a great threesome.

I would suggest you pick one out of those you mentioned and keep a lookout for a nice example to be available of it. Otherwise it seems pretty directionless to me. Of course, DONT settle. For example, I would go for the 5508 out of those and wait (even if it means doing so for a year or two... Or three) to be presented one in the condition I like.

Thank you all for your kind advises, appreciate it
I just kinda want to narrow down what I really like and sure people have different tastes and styles. I always love the clean dials look so maybe the 1665/1680 with the date function wont do it for me now at least so I was thinking about collecting all the 5513 Matte Dials and maybe a Gilt so in sum thats 10 already. Of course no rush, will always look for the best of each!
am I crazy or what? They all look the same...ah ah same same BUT different right?
