1970s Date Watch
Hi,
I’m in search of a gold men’s vintage Rolex preferably from the 1960s/70s. I recently purchased this style (http://www.craigevansmall.com/watche...u19258036.html) without ever seeing it in person, and it’s much smaller than I’d like. I found this larger Date model (http://www.chrono24.com/en/rolex/vin...-id3177290.htm) - does this seem like a fair asking price? Also, does anyone have suggestions for stores/sites where I can find similar styles that aren’t as delicate as the original Date I ordered? Thanks!! |

Sorry but that's the same watch you already bought.
If you want a larger 36mm watch go for the DateJust. |

I think the second is larger than the first (31 mm), but that the full size date was 34 or 35 mm. The datejust is slightly larger at 36 mm. They were also available in 18k.

The 1503 is 34mm, I have one, so it's 3mm larger than the 31mm midsize. It's not a large watch. Try the 36mm on for size before you commit any more money to the game: it's better to buy what you like. Expect to pay at least 3K for a 36mm gold Rolex oyster, no matter what vintage or what model. Most are closer to 5K these days.

How about a 16758? It has a date.

I'd just get a day date 18xxx and call it a day. the day dates look a bit bigger than the date justs the dial is bigger and bezel smaller, and the solid gold bracelet makes it look bigger too. imo
