Tudor Sub: Help needed!
i´m new here so please be patient with me...
i have some nice plexi tudor subs, but now i´m looking for a no-date version. i have been offered a 9401/0 which should be from the 70ies. some details of the watch seem a little odd to me: - the dial seems to be younger, i guess it´s from the late 80ies or early 90ies, because the SUBMARINER is printed in the newer font and not the old style - i´m not an expert at all about the inner parts... one collector in germany pointed out that this ETA is not a tudor-ETA. also i have never seen a rotor with these engravings. what do you think? - it has a 9411 (that´s the ref. WITH date) case back, but i guess that could have happened at tudor back then - the crown guard is totally uneven. i discussed this with MrClean already, it is really strange because there are some tudors out there with this uneven guards. - the engravings of serial and reference look original to me is this just a genuine tudor with a replacement ETA and newer dial/hands/inlay or is there anything else wrong? thanks for your help! |

Dial should be a latter version or replacement coz the original one at this early S/N should come with square hour markers and square hands.
Case back with 9411 stamped is fine. Not quite familiar with the movement though ... |

The wach looks great from the pics though, I agree that it is likely to have a service replacement dial on there as these models originally have square hour markers and hands. In the link below is some pictures of a 9411 with the original dial and hands. The only difference is that the one pictured is an Oysterdate model. Click: Tudor Prince Oysterdate Submariner Ref. 9411

Gotta agree with Jerome.
Buy the seller before buying the watch, and imho this sounds like a seller.
