Meeting to buy this Presidential today... anything look fishy?
I am meeting a gentleman to purchase this 18038 presidential today... Does anything look fishy to you? It looks right to me except the bold day print SATURDAY (is that original?). I have another presidential similar to this and the font isn't as bold. He has the papers for the watch and I will open it up before buying but before I meet him I wanted to see your opinion. I know it looks pretty worn but I am getting it for an incredible price. Thanks!

Bezel looks a bit thin and dial and day dial do look odd (but a weird angle to look at a watch side on and so large, so eyes may be playing tricks, certainly done some very hard living. Crystal looks badly damaged up near 12pm marker. Most of us like our watches to be super clean so most would say pass no matter what the price.

The price should be really good. Quite a job to do on this one which will be costly. Service, Crystal, Day wheel, Bracelet overhaul.

The springbar does not appear to be gold either. Should be right?

Maybe it's just the picture quality or the lighting but it looks like the gold is thin like it's rubbing off.

Is the SEL fitment off? Looks pretty asymmetric to me.

Looks like stainless spring bars as well. They don't play nicely with the gold case....

No I do appreciate the criticism. It helps me understand more and helps me make a decision. Helped me not get burned before:) sometimes we need to speak with positivity intertwined.

The clasp should never be that far outside the watch case... Wow, that band was stretched.. Was going to recommend Michael Young, but sounds like you flipped it
