What to do?

Last June I purchased a brand new 114060 (SubC without the date complication) and I have been utterly infatuated with it ever since. One happy customer here!

I really like watches and I love browsing forums and websites to see whats there.

I said to myself that after a year I might look an another purchase!

The first problem is that I KNOW that it will not give me the satisfaction I had from my first purchase.

The second problem is that I really can't find any watch out there that I really prefer over my one. I like the GMT 116710 and the Panerai 005 but if I flipped mine for one of those two, I would regret it. If I bought one of those two in conjunction with mine, it would be a large financial undertaking without the same level of satisfaction I currently enjoy with my initial purchase.....maybe I got it right the first time and should just stay as I am?

Wondering if any of you had the same thoughts coming up to a year after you purchased your first watch

If you are loving the one you have and desire nothing over it, enjoy your watch, had my first as a one and only for over ten years

I think you are wise and very self-aware. Sounds like some additions rather than flipping is in the cards for you.

Most people here probably envy you. Don't force a new one.

Definitely enjoy your initial purchase. Do not get caught up in flipping as you will regret your first one going (I speak from expirence).

I would be happy just saving up for another watch down the road.

Thanks guys, if I keep looking, I'm sure one will sing to me soon!

I was looking online at an IWC Pilot Mark XVII and when I actually held one in an AD, I was very disappointed. Now I have developed a problem with ETA movements. Makes me realize the value of a Rolex. Few others (if any?) offer an in-house movement and the same build quality for the price of my 114060.

The next purchase definitely will not be a rushed one.

If your staying with one watch the 114060 is a fantastic one to have. The last thing you want to do is flip and regret it.

I think you will regret flipping the sub. Save up and add another. The gmt is great, but maybe consider the blnr for a little diversity.

I think the only reason would be to trade up into something you'd want even more than your existing. Large financial undertakings to add a second, that won't eclipse your first, is definitely off the menu. Personally, whenever i consider reconfiguring my modest two pieces and adding cash for something special, I always consider how long it will take to add a sub as a second. While I could forsake one for awhile in the name of a grail, I would always want a black sub.

Why accumulate another or flip a watch you love?

If nothing really screams at you don't try to search.

Keep the one you like and enjoy the ride

Stick with your Subc. Don't start flipping. You'll regret it and it will be expensive.

Thanks guys. Thats that decided!

The only one I would flip it for immediately would be the BLNR if it wasnt for the PCLs. Im such a neat freak and IMO they prematurely age the watch.....

114060 stays!

The BLNR is a beauty. I have one and it's not an every day wear for me. I only wear it when I'm in long sleeves as I'm too OCD over the PCLs. I would most certainly add it to your collection but I wouldn't part with your Sub to make way for it

My dad lusted over the ingeneiur but in the flesh he said it was a big let down. I find Rolex tends to actually be the opposite and make me say 'wow.' I don't understand why you are asking the question though? You're content, but want to buy another? Just wait until something you like comes into view or go to some AD's.

If you are not in a rush, keep saving and one day the right watch will appear at the right time and you have the start of a collection.

Flipping is like sleeping with your secretary, the chase is fun and when you finally get it, its awesome - but the novelty quickly wears off and you end up missing that 1st dependable one. (the wife)

Now if you can have both at the same time..................

Definitely keep your sub whatever happens and save for the next. There is absolutely no point stretching yourself financially for a watch you are not even sure about. Plus, it definitely sounds like letting go of the Sub will lead to regret, and nobody wants that feeling!

It makes no sense to flip a watch you really love. Just save your money so you'll have when one does start singing to you. Then, it won't as much a financial hardship.

Do you have any idea how many people in the world have only one watch?
