Real or fake (please help)
Hey guys,
I am speaking to a person from Craigslist to meet about this watch. He is offering just the watch head for $4,250. I will meet him in person and also at a jeweler. Can you guys please look at the images and let me know if this watch could be legit. I really appreciate your help. Thank you, |

It looks fake, the magnification of date is off. But even if it wasn't just by reading "Craigslist" I'm your description is reason enough to stay away.

If you are going to meet at a jewelers, have him remove the case back for a look-see. If the movement is genuine, then talk price...

Noticed that but only in one picture. (#11). The date magnification looks to be off, that could be the angle. Meet at a Rolex AD or a RSC or a good independent watchmaker and have them take a peek at the mo event and verify it is genuine. Price seems aggressive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm the nervous type. Condition not great, real or not. I'd keep looking.

I'm with Chewbacca - the photos look like they've been taken deliberately to obscure the finer details, especially the date.

Every shot is off angle, the cyclops will be one of the easier pick ups but every photo is taken on angle none are direct on. As discussed a visit to an AD or watch maker particularly if there is one you trust can crack open the case and confirm.

no mate, the magnification looks off.
also, meeting some stranger off of Craigslist with $4K cash in your pocket is a good way to end up dead in the boot of your car on a side street with your body only being discovered when the metermaid smells you decomposing. I would pass. |
