Incoming - Rolex Polar Explorer II 16570 - D serial from 2005

Got my new-used watch today.

Instead of sending my 1993 Explorer II in for a service dial and hands, I traded mine + cash to get a 2005 model with superluminova and upgraded bracelet. It wasn't sentimental like many of my other watches, it's just a tool watch and I wanted to be able to tell the time in the dark sometimes.

It ended up being about $600-700 more than I would have paid to Rolex for parts and labor, but my 1993 would not have gone up in value, so this is a better deal.

And boy does this baby glow!

Very nice. I like your approach to servicing.

Nice one.
I too have a 2005 Polar, and the way the lume glows is excellent.

I was surprised by the glow after only 20 seconds of sunlight coming in through the window of the house, and when I moved away from the window and it was still electrified looking in the light indoors. So I had to get a photo.

It was still readable in the dark at 1AM when I went to bed.

And yes, my approach to servicing is a bit unorthodox
