adjusting SS Daytona bracelet
Hi everyone
I would like to adjust my bracelet by myself but I have never done it before: 1. Can someone please provide a resource that shows how to it? 2. What tool(s) do I need? Many thanks for your help fellow Rolex fans! |

the correct screwdriver is the most important in doing correctly, there's a few threads on driver recommendations.

Make sure you use a "cut-out" screwdriver in the proper size. Google it for more info. Otherwise you might damage the screws.

Give me a bit more info.
Are you adding or removing links? Adjusting the micro adjustment in the clasp? For the links you need a 1.6mm hollow ground screwdriver similar to a Sea Dweller screwdriver. To adjust the clasp micro setting (there are 3 sets of holes) I use an ff fine fork and and Bergeon pliers for the lug springbars. I'm looking at both micro adjustment and possibly link removal/swap. Basically I'm going to play around with it until it's perfect. Where can I buy those tools? |

I used a Bergeon 1.60 mm screw driver and still managed to damage the slot on two screws.

Your best bet is to have a watchmaker adjust it with the proper tools.
Just too easy to slip and scratch or damage a screw. Try something less valuable for a first time adjustment. |

For the screws you need a 1.6mm screwdriver.
To adjust the easylink of my Daytona I use a very small screwdriver (1.2mm or so) and not a special tool.

These screws are originally 'Loctite'd' in so if the screw is tight heat up the link first with a hairdryer to soften the glue on the threaded bit ... and no, I'm not joking!!

It's a brand new Rolex from an AD. Maybe better to leave it to the experts. I don't want to damage my expensive watch :-)

Agreed. Spend as much time as you need at the AD adjusting it and it's rare that you'll need to again.

Take it to the RSC if you can. I had mine resized twice at 2 different ADs. The first at purchase and second at another AD. The second AD deformed the screw head.
Ended up taking it to the RSC to have it replaced! The rep did warn me that the screws may be of a different length because they're from a different batch though. |
