I had happened on this article just before I read your recommendation. It was interesting, and sort of gives us Rolexophiles some validation vs. other high-end brands (Patek, VC, et. al.) I also found his view of Omega interesting, and consider the purchase of one in the future.

After a year and a half of pouring over watch-related web sites, including TRF, I had just about come to the same conclusions, and have lost some interest in some of the more "high-brow" brands.
