Do you prefer vintage or new?

I have been a fan of Rolex for over 25 years. My obsession began when I was about 16 years old. I didn't get my first until I was about 23 yrs old. I do like the newer, current models and own a new Rose Gold & SS Datejust and Sunburst Submariner 116613lb. However, I seem to be drawn to the semi-vintage models from the mid 90's to early 2000's which is when I really started my love affair with the brand. Also, with the recent price hikes over the last 5 to 10 years, these mid 90's to early 2000's seem like a relative bargain. I am currently looking at a 16233 or 16200 SS Datejust model. (I also currently have a 116234 DJ). These are currently around the $3,500 to $4,000 range depending upon condition, box & papers, etc. I believe this was close to the retail price in the mid 90's to early 2000's. However, by todays standards, these models are close to half the price of the newer versions of these models (116233 and 116200). I also tend to like the brushed lugs on the older models. I am just curious if other members of the forum feel the same way.
