2 vs. 2

I recall seeing a thread on this before, but while at my AD this AM, he showed me a Pepsi and a Coke GMT and noted that his distributor told him he had a somewhat collectible new watch. Through a loupe, he showed me the difference between the two Roman numeral scripts. One had the two vertical lines connected at the top and bottom. The other did not have them connected. The distributor said he was getting calls from all over the country asking him to locate the unconnected lines as they are considered as collectible. Interesting! The distributor stated that the cause for the non-connected notations was the lack of a script or some sort after which they had to apply or draw (don't know which) the unconnected lines. You guys probably know more than me on this one, just passing it along.

Either your AD, or the distributor is full of it......

Although I don't doubt that there are calls for the GMT because it is discontinued, it's probably unrelated to the font.

They ain't rare, or in limited numbers, or anything to get excited about. Just a slightly different font from another Rolex supplier. Many try to make it out to be more than it is. Maybe, many years from now.....................

Thanks for the post. It's not new news or that big of deal. My AD had several of both styles. If you want one or the other, you should get one as they are discontinued. Nobody (that isn't on commission) seems to think the collectibility will increase because of the different font.
