New Submariner No-Date
Hello -
I am new to this forum but not Rolex. I just purchased a new stainless submariner from an AD on Friday. So far I love this watch. I have a 1999 stainless and gold blue face sub and some other nice other watches in my small collection (GP, IWC, CWard). However, my first nice watch was a no-date sub I bought in 1995 that I subsequently gave to my nephew as a graduation present. I always missed the symmetry of the no-date dial and the classic tool nature of the stainless only model. This new model does not disappoint - the ceramic bezel with smooth action, much improved bracelet and overall heftier feel of the watch seems like a great update to an old classic. I know others may disagree with the tampering of a classic, but I obviously think Rolex has done a great job updating this most iconic of models. It's about 8 sec/day fast out of the box; I will break it in and see how it does. Best of luck to all. |
