Depends somewhat on what you already own. Between the two I like the white dial better.

If you're talking about the newer 42mm model, I like the look of the orange 24h hand against the black dial. In the older model, the white is very cool and makes a nice contrast if you have a lot of black dial watches.

Which did you like better on your wrist? That is all that matters.

My thread is still ongoing - I think I favor the white.
I have this feeling that I can't wear it everyday? Winter/summer etc. I feel like if I go with a the black dial or even a sub, I won't take it off my wrist (it's my phobia) Mike |

Go polar. Looks sharp and contrasts with the black seen on other Rolex utility watches

My only issue with the black is the uneven amount of black on the base of each hand. The floating hands thing doesnt really seem to work. I'd rather they left that out. On the polar you obviously dont have that. Plus its a nice contrast to a collection of black dials. Both watches are lovely though

I currently have a white, but had both at one time. Tough choice, they are both nice!

They are both exquisite in their own way. I decided on the polar because of what pol3259 said--legibility. The black edged hands stand out against the white face more than the white gold against the black. I also love the way the lume almost glows blue in full sunlight.

Black if it is your only Rolex, white if you own others (assuming the others you own are black dialed). Rolex only has a few sport watches that offer white dials as an option. For that reason the white dial Daytona and Explorer II tend to be a tad more popular than their black dial counterparts. The white dial Milgauss, on the other hands, doesn't get enough love because it lacks the GV.
