Help! Need tips on buying a Daytona 18K/SS

1. Can I trust Ebay sellers with good reviews? How many is acceptable?
2. What are some good indicators of a Fugazi?
3. New or used?

This will be my first Rolex and I want it to be a good one. I recently had a negative experience purchasing an Omega online and kinda got burnt.

I think that you should heed your previous experience.

I wouldn't buy on ebay, but I would definitely buy from a trusted seller on this forum.

Only person I would trust on ebay is Matthew Bain (wirelug).

Trusted sellers here have much better deals and guaranteed to be authentic.

Ok, ok. I was really close to buying one on Ebay. I will crowdsource this project.

Any suggestions on a Daytona 116523?

Being new to this forum, I am unaware of the procedure or protocol for contacting other users directly. I have read mention of a "Trusted Sellers" list.

Thanks, everyone for the advice.

1) Don't buy a Rolex off eBay!
2) Do buy from a trusted seller off TRF!
3) Why TT? Personally I'd go SS or Full Gold!
4) if you are going TT, the best 2 dials are the Arabic Panda or the Arabic Blue Dial!

Good luck.

Got this one two weeks ago from Takuya. I think he has another or can get you one. Not sure about shipping to Germany.

As you cannot use US trusted sellers I would go to Iconic Watches in UK who you can trust, look on Trustpilot for reviews. Also look on chrono24 and Ebay for a local dealer that you can visit and see the watch before you buy. The weight is the best clue, TT weighs more than a fake gold-plated, so feel the weights before in an AD.

I'm in the fortunate position of being able using US sellers. Being an expat from Colorful Colorado I still use the USPS. I can also get tax-free items in Germany and some other perks. Best of both worlds.
