Getting your AD drunk as a discount attempt
Here with his BLNR and his best friend's 16yo Sub, trying to get an extra 1.9% on an everose diamond Daytona. Wish me luck!

I didn't tell you the base price obviously, but this could be a monster discount if I get it. Wish me luck, the Laphroaig is delicious.....

If that doesn't work try getting him a hooker.

An email to a TRF seller is a lot cheaper. You can even send one from a Bar ;-)

Morning after, I think I'm still drunk! Too much Islay single malt. He tells me that in 35 years in the business, I'm the first client he's ever taken out for drinks. And I believe him. Dunno why, we just clicked from the outset when I walked into his shop originally back in April to check the retail price of something, to confirm another dealer wasn't lying to me. He's not the owner, he just manages it, and he's not on commission, though he gets an annual bonus if all the shops in the chain do well. He told me their dealer discount is 45% - higher than I thought it was. Anyway, this is the baby I'm looking to buy. Let's see how the day pans out.

But I didn't pull the trigger. I haggled too hard over the final €750, which in the grand scheme of things wasn't really that important, but took me over a card single purchase limit that in reality I could have called my bank and removed. Regretting it a bit now. Still, finally the DD WG 118399 I ordered in April is arriving in his next shipment, so I'll be over there at the end of the month to pick it up, and will have another chance to buy at his final price. Turns out though, if I had bought it, the insurance would have required another safe upgrade. The current safe, rated Eurosafe 0 for £6k cash / £60k jewellery, is 30 kg. The safes at the next step up, Eurosafe 1 for £10k cash / £100k jewellery, seem to start at around 80 kg. Given the ballache of getting the current safe delivered and installed, only to have to have it removed and replaced before I even take delivery of the 118399, seems a bit high. |

Most TRF sellers are US and I wouldn't like to see the import cost
