Thoughts on the 15305st

Hi all,

I wanted to solicit your thoughts on the AP 15305st. I've tried on the RG version a few times but I haven't seen the steel version yet. My main concern is if I would get bored of the skeletonized face (more of a novelty piece?). Thanks and pics are always welcomed.

Love the 15305st! Just picked up the 15305or. Only went with the gold because I already had a SS 15400 and I wanted something a little more special to pass down to my son.

How could you ever get bored of the skeleton dial? So much more interesting than a regular dial. I enjoy looking at all the fine details and small moving parts...really brings the watch to life. I also really enjoy being able to admire the fine movement finishing of a haute horology house like AP without having to take the watch off and look at the case back. The only downside is that it isn't the easiest watch to read. I often look down and get so mesmerized by the dial and gears ticking away that I forget to look at the time.

It's an awesome piece but in RG, saw it in SS and didn't like much, still cool one but if SS I would prefer a Jumbo

I already have a white dial Jumbo. I like the SS version since it is a little less blingy.

Gorgeous watch. Have considered it a few times but others keep getting in the way!

Congrats and love it! As to OP: I happen to love the watch in SS and have considered it as well so perhaps some day. Contrary to Arnaud I saw it in SS and was blown away!! So clearly taste is subjective and only you can decide for yourself.

Well I usually don't like bling but the SS appeared to me a little dull, but then again I saw it 30 seconds as I wasn't interested by it really, but did try it on though, in any case it's a very cool watch, just one of the rare ones that I prefer in RG than in SS, the Patek 5167 is also like that, I like the SS but prefer way more the RG

Of course taste is subjective and differ, and it's a good thing, if we all had the same tastes life would be really boring

It's an incredibly well crafted piece for sure but for me just a bit too much going on.

I agree that it has a lot going on. This is one of my reservations regarding this piece.

Agreed. But I just glanced over it. I haven't taken the time to really appreciate it.

As an existing owner of the same watch I agree with everything you said. Congrats on the pickup!

I too find the 15305ST just as nice. The SS case with bracelets lends the watch a different feel compare to the RG version, more advant garde and industrious.

My 2nd fave AP behind the RO tourbillon and IMO one of the best looking skeletons all time.

Avant grade and industrious are perfect descriptions for this watch. How often do you wear yours?

You mean the RG version? Not that often actually as it is not considered as one of my daily watches.

One of my absolute favorite pieces...one I hope to obtain in the near future.
Here 's one in the window at the Bal Harbour boutique just a month ago.

I really like the rg one. I think it's good for the price point and would be hard to get tired of

ST is very nice on strap if you're willing to spend the time and effort to make it happen.

Looks fantastic on strap. Was it difficult for you to find the 15305? Thanks.

It is a wonderful piece, and very hard to come by in steel. It is becoming Boutique only in the US, with the top top ADs maybe getting one if they are lucky. I use mine as my dress watch as opposed to regular rotation, and I must say to me it fits the bill perfectly!

I don't think ill ever get bored wearing a skeleton watch, sadly I've passed the opportunity for a 15305 steel twice a year ago. The watch wears exactly like any non jumbo RO models and would highly recommend it, happy hunting!

Beautiful piece! The only thing I would miss is the date indicator as I often turn to my watch for that info. But overall it is a stunning watch, love it.

Meeting the team that makes the skeletons at AP, one gets a true appreciation for the art and skill it takes to produce.

Great pieces no matter the flavor one decides.
